As an adult, I still have occasional acne breakouts. WTF?!?! There are a handful of times that I remember when my skin looked great – as a prepubescent teenager and when I was pregnant, which I find ironic since your hormones are all over the place. Aside from those periods (no pun intended), I’ve had minor breakouts over the years. And nothing is more annoying than seeing one of these boogers start to develop, trying to resist picking it and waiting patiently (sometimes it takes weeks!!!) for the zit to go through its stages before it finally goes away… Only to have another one sprout up again. ARGHHH!
Sure I know things like stress, diet, hormones and touching your face with your dirty hands can all contribute to breakouts. Despite being conscious and trying to control all of these things, the pimples still came.
I’ve tried over-the-counter products, Proactiv and even a prescribed ointment from my dermatologist, all with little success. Each of these products were just too strong for my extremely sensitive skin and ended up causing severe dryness and red patches. With all the recent hype over face oils, one day my Google research led me to Marie Veronique Advanced. Their Acne Treatment kit piqued my interest, particularly this statement, “…the best way to combat excess greasiness and acne is by using the right combination of oils.” I ordered the sample kit.
After the first week, I noticed an immediate improvement in my skin’s tone and texture; the whiteheads I had started to shrink. By the second week of use, all signs of my previous breakout was non-existent. And the best part, I didn’t have any new ones on the horizon. The sample kit came with a cleanser, hydration mist, treatment oil and a serum. I found the best results with the latter two products and have continued to use them religiously.
The Acne Treatment Oil is made up of ingredients like argan, borage and tree tree oils, which help fight sebum, balance water loss and keep zits at bay. I follow this product up with the Treatment Serum which contains Pantothenic Plus™, a vitamin B5 that controls and regulates the oil production of the sebaceous glands, in addition to niacinamide, which helps with inflammatory skin conditions. I apply a few small drops of each product daily, in the morning and evening.
Just a warning that these products are not cheap (the Acne Treatment Duo cost $150). But I have found them to be more effective than everything else I have tried, so I’m doubling down on these!
If you experience acne breakouts, I HIGHLY recommend this skincare line. Marie Veronique to the rescue!
